Boeing shifts S.C. Max workers to main campus

Boeing Co. has transferred employees working on 737 Max engines in Ladson to its main North Charleston campus as a result of the Max production halt announced last month. The company is not disclosing the number of South Carolina employees transferred and a spokeswoman said she was not sure how long the transfer would last. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)

Milliken & Co. buying another chemicals company

Milliken & Co., a global diversified manufacturer based in Spartanburg, has signed an agreement to acquire Borchers Group Ltd., a global specialty chemicals company that makes high-performance coating additives and specialty catalyst solutions. (GSA Business Report)

Port reports best calendar year in its history

The S.C. Ports Authority said it handled 2.44 million TEUs in 2019, a 5% year-over-year increase and the highest volume in port history. Last month, the port handled 187,882 TEUs at the Wando Welch and North Charleston container terminals. (Charleston Regional Business Journal)
