The US economy added 213,000 jobs to nonfarm payrolls in June, according to the Labor Department. The unemployment rate was 4%, up from 3.8% in May, and average hourly earnings increased 0.2%.

A Reportlinker study found that 65% of American employees surveyed believe freelancers are happier than their full-time counterparts, and 26% of those polled said they planned to freelance at some point in their career. The majority of millennial workers say they prioritize jobs that offer telecommuting, gym memberships and parental leave, which freelancing can often provide.
The wage gap between men and women might have its roots in children's allowances, with researchers finding girls receive on average less than half of what boys receive weekly. Chores boys and girls are asked to do also differ, BusyKid CEO Gregg Murset says.
