Zoning commission gives HCI Alternatives positive recommendation for recreational pot sales

The Springfield Planning and Zoning Commission recommended Wednesday that HCI Alternatives, one of two medical marijuana dispensaries in Sangamon County, be permitted to sell recreational marijuana at their current downtown site and a secondary site on the city's east side and that an area for on-site consumption be allowed in the former once adult use becomes legal Jan. 1.
