Foster homes give them the best chance of survival.” Then Mandi asked me to consider a tuxedo cat named Mamma Mia and her five kittens: Sky, Sophie, Rosie, Harry, and Sam. You guessed it, all named after characters in the Broadway musical, Mamma Mia. “How long would I have them?” I asked. “When the kittens are two pounds, you bring them back to be spayed and neutered. Then they’ll be placed on the adoption floor. Think about it. No pressure.” I was eager to support Mandi in her new job and, to be honest, score some mother-in-law points. Yet my thoughts raced.
