Accelerating research, raising awareness and driving change remains critical issues for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

When someone experienced a stroke 40 years ago, almost nothing could be done. Since then, thanks to our wonderful donors, we’ve completely changed the landscape for stroke prevention, care, and treatment.

Despite making incredible progress, stroke continues to devastate families in every community in Canada:

• Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death in Canada, occurring every five minutes
• Stroke is the leading cause of disability for Canadians
• Due to an aging population and younger people having strokes, the numbers are rising

As we move into spring, our focus will be on our continued fight to beat stroke, to help push research forward and continue to transform healthcare delivery to ensure we all get the right care at the right time. Join us in the fight!
