Customs and Border Patrol impose strict rules on imported meats and vegetables for safety reasons. Other countries don’t have the same rules and regulations applied to their produce and livestock inspections, and as a result, any contaminated contraband food has the potential to lead to health crises. This is why Border Patrol agents take their work so seriously. Recently, a driver was stopped at the U.S./Mexico border for declaring his cargo of frozen ham rolls on his truck. But that wasn’t what was in the bed at all. As it turns out, the truck was filled with nearly 154 pounds of pure bologna! Pork is prohibited in domestic crossings, so more than 100 pounds of meat was sadly seized and destroyed. That’s enough for a year’s worth of crappy sandwiches!

Soon, we won’t even need to import meat. We’ll just grow it instead!
