Solar incentives can help you save big money when making the switch.
No need to test your luck, there are solar rebates available to you! Get the benefits of lower carbon emissions and huge savings on your utility bills with solar energy. Save even more with rebates and incentives. One of Minnesota’s largest solar incentives is Xcel Energy’s Solar*Rewards rebate, which provides recipients with at least $0.03/kWh for 10 years. If you aren’t an Xcel Energy customer, utilities such as Dakota Electric and Shakopee Public Utilities offer a flat rate $500 rebate to their customers. Your city might also provide a solar incentive! The Minneapolis Green Cost Share is available to all residents of the city and gives a base rate of $0.20/kWh, but there is potential for a higher amount based on income level or location. Other cities, such as St. Louis Park and Edina offer solar cost share programs as well! Even if none of the above apply to you, there is still savings to be had! All U.S. residents qualify for a 30 percent federal tax credit on solar energy systems. Plus, this can be used in combination with other incentives for maximum solar savings. What’s the catch? Many of these programs have limited funding, and we can’t guarantee they will continue on in future years. So for guaranteed savings on solar, it’s best to act now!
