More Baton Rouge news inside
with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorGood afternoon. Thanks for dropping by. LSU made news on a couple fronts today. First its athletic department said it would require football fans to either show their COVID-19 vaccine record or proof that they recently tested negative for COVID if they want to enter Tiger Stadium. Moments later, the school's president said students must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 15, or submit to regular testing. The Tiger Stadium story is here, and the student story is here. After saying there was little Livingston Parish could do about a string of problems for people tubing on the Amite River, the parish president is willing to have a discussion. Layton Ricks this week will talk to parish council members about recent deaths and rescues on the river. When the Magnolia Café burned down in 2003, owner Robin Marshall wasn’t sure if she would rebuild. Customers convinced her she should, and it’s that same community love that has gotten the St. Francisville café through the pandemic. Reporter Robin Miller checked out what’s going on at The Mag. It's a busy news day already. Check in later! |
