| It wasn't the prettiest win for the LSU Tigers over the UL Monroe Warhawks, but a win is a win. LSU defeated ULM on Saturday night in Death Valley 27-14, and the win moves the Tigers within one win of bowl eligibility. The offense only converted two of four redzone trips on the night, but big plays from receivers Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. helped break the game open for the Tigers. Nabers gave the Tigers its first receiver to cross the century mark since week five. Max Johnson played fairly well after Coach Orgeron announced this week that Garrett Nussmeier would be redshirting. This comes after Nussmeier after took the reigns during the Arkansas game last week. ULM missed some opportunities to make the game closer than it should have been with two near touchdowns on fourth and goals, one in the first half and one in the second half. LSU (5-6) has to win its last game against Texas A&M to earn a bowl bid. Even though Orgeron is on his way out and there’s no championship to play for, these Tigers keep showing up and competing each week.
