Would he or wouldn't he? The question — would talented linebacker Harold Perkins decide to return to LSU in 2025 — hung out there since he got injured Sept. 21 against UCLA. The more time passed, especially since the transfer portal window opened in early December, the more possible it seemed like Perkins would return. Friday, he made his decision official. Perkins will return to the Tigers next season. "I'm back," Perkins said at the end of his announcement video. Next to Garrett Nussmeier returning to play quarterback, this is the biggest, most positive news LSU could have gotten regarding one of its established stars. I know some of you out there are saying, "What position will he play?" Perkins is not a middle/inside linebacker really, too small, and he's too big to play safety. But Perkins is a talent. We'll see if LSU can finally utilize his skills for the best for him and for the Tigers. Meanwhile, LSU picked up a big offensive lineman transfer in Josh Thompson from Northwestern (the one in Chicago, not Natchitoches). He started at right tackle for the Big Ten Wildcats in 2024.
