| Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is seeking public feedback on some proposed updates, including the addition of the park’s first publicly reservable backcountry cabin. The backcountry cabin would sit on a bluff overlooking Lake Superior near the park’s Twelvemile Beach Campground. The public will have through Dec. 31 to submit comment on the proposed opportunities, park officials announced this week. | |

| An 8-mile section of an Upper Peninsula snowmobile trail is reopened after five years and a $10.5 million project to repair damage from an historic storm event. The segment of Trail No. 3 between Dollar Bay and Lake Linden on the Keweenaw Peninsula was reopened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, just in time for the 2023-24 snowmobile season. | |
