Louisianans are in vacation mode, and this year they're splurging on international trips

This year might just be the year vacations go international.

Demand for international travel has come back strong, after being sidelined by COVID-related restrictions that weren’t generally lifted until 2022. This summer, many Americans are expected to spend more on their vacations and go farther, including destinations such as Italy or the Caribbean even while airfare prices have gone up.

According to travel website Hopper, travelers are ready to get out there with 54% expecting to take more trips than they did last year, while 84% responded that they will spend more money on travel compared to the year prior.
