There's a lot happening in New Orleans on this summer Friday. Let's get to the headlines. Take this bridge: It will cost hundreds of millions of dollars for Louisiana to replace the closed bridges that link Louisiana and Mississippi on U.S. 90, and the state doesn't have a plan for securing the cash. But in the meantime, if you want one of the historic bridges for your own use, well, the state might give one to you, free of charge, Bob Warren reports. What's happening this weekend?: It's real stinking hot, but you still gotta find something to do this weekend, right? Here are a few options if you're still looking, and here's what's up at our local museums over the next week. Archdiocese impasse: The two sides in the Archdiocese of New Orleans bankruptcy have been fighting for four years over how to settle the case. Now, the federal judge overseeing the proceedings appears to have had enough, and is bringing in an outside advisor to help resolve things, Stephanie Riegel reports. Saints v. Niners: The Saints' second preseason outing is this Sunday, and they'll be taking on the 49ers in California. Here's how to watch, and you can catch up on recent team news here, here and here.
