Meanwhile, tensions remain high around abortion clinics in the state. In Baton Rouge, a clinic that steers women away from abortions was vandalized, days after a confrontation at a nearby abortion clinic led to criminal charges. The Louisiana Judiciary Commission has found that a Baton Rouge-area judge abused her power to hold people in contempt of court. It has recommended a six-month unpaid suspension.
