Mark Schleifstein recently visited the 2,000-year-old barrier island chain and has this report. Counterintuitive vote: The U.S. Supreme Court recently decided to effectively uphold, for now, an electoral map that gives Louisiana a second majority-Black congressional district. But the decision raised eyebrows over the composition of the vote, with the court's three liberal justices effectively voting against creating a second majority-Black district.
