Trump said his approach to the environment is focused on improvements, not ideology. “The left’s agenda isn’t about protecting the environment, it’s about punishing America,” Trump said. “Instead of focusing on radical ideology, my administration is focusing on delivering real results, and that’s what we have.” READ | | | | COVID AID Republicans in the Senate plan to introduce a new coronavirus aid package today. It would provide a $300 expanded unemployment benefit until the end of the year, help small business with payroll, and provide liability protections for businesses. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the bill “is headed nowhere.” Pelosi and Democrats wanted $1 trillion for state and local aid, but Republicans have called that provision a "bailout." READ | | | | FLORIDA POLL The latest NBC/Marist poll puts Trump and Biden both at 48% in Florida. Biden is over-performing with seniors compared with Hillary's totals in 2016. But President Trump leads among Hispanics in Florida. READ | | | | POP CULTURE DC Comics will feature Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib in its new “Wonder Women of History” graphic novel. Other liberals included are Elizabeth Warren and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. No traditional or conservative women were included in the project. READ | | | OSCARS & 'INCLUSION' In order for any film to be nominated for Best Picture in the year 2024, it will have to meet new standards of inclusion first. The new standards dictate that at least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group. The audience for the Oscars has steadily declined over the years, with 42.9 million watching in 2001 but only 23.6 million watching this year. READ | | | | | | | | TABERNACLE STOLEN The tabernacle was stolen from the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria in St. Catharines, Ontario. Bishop Gerard Bergie said: “The tabernacle can be replaced. It’s the contents (...) that is what is so precious to us.
