Quick tip of the dayThe holidays are all about memories — reliving old ones and creating new ones. This holiday season, I encourage you to take a few photos and videos you’ll be glad you have in years to come. Here are my tips for capturing your holiday: Get behind-the-scenes shots of your family’s food traditions — hands cutting out Christmas cookies or a video of Grandma telling you the story behind her favorite dish or dessert. Before a meal, take your plate to a bright area outside or by a window to get the lighting just right. Take the popular shot looking down at your plate, but try other angles, too. You can never have too many photos of people laughing, especially when they’re not looking at the camera. When photographing groups, shoot at eye level or stand on a step ladder so you’re a little higher. Remember, lighting is important. For beautiful portraits, head outside at the golden hour. That’s about one hour before sunset. Daytime on a cloudy day makes for surprisingly great lighting, too.📸 And, yes, I know you want to look your best. We all do. Follow these tricks for a slimmer-looking neck in others’ photos and better selfies. |
