Hey everybody, Another week done in the Lancashire Post archives and we've got some great retro picture galleries this week. First up was a look at the area once earmarked for the doomed Tithebarn project. When John Lewis pulled out of the deal, the scheme collapsed. The idea was set to take a large swathe of the city centre under its belt. What did it look like when the scheme was very much alive? Our gallery takes a peek Who could fail to have heard about the great success of our country's finest female footballers lifting the European Cup on Sunday? With that in mind we looked at the Dick, Kerr Ladies football team from Preston - once deemed the darlings of England. But how did it all start and what happened to them? Read about them here. Next up was the weekly catch up of the ordinary folk of Preston, Blackpool and the Fylde, going about their daily business through the years. And rounding off the week we searched the archives to bring you the best school pictures showing student life at All Hallows RC High School in Penwortham, back in the 90s. We hope you enjoy this week's memories and look forward to more next week. Naomi | |
