LongShots is the first ever virtual film festival by the BBC, celebrating the most exciting emerging documentary film makers around the world. Our mission is to support creators and filmmakers who have yet to be screened at major film festivals, through all the quintessential elements of a regular festival. Over 70 documentaries were nominated by the festival’s official jurors – a group of industry experts, including Academy Award nominees, Emmy Award winners and international film festival curators, from Tribeca to Venice. Now this has been whittled down to a shortlist of seven films. All the seven shortlisted movies explore what it means to be human today. You can watch them for free on BBC Reel and vote for your favourite until June 22nd. The winner will be announced on June 24th during an Award Ceremony, that you can follow in real time on BBC Reel Instagram and Facebook Stories. |
