Lockdown milestone - will things ever be the same again?

Good evening

Next week we will have spent almost a year - on and off - in lockdown.

During that time life has changed in many ways and it will take us some time to get back to what we might consider as normal.

For those people working in industries most affected by Covid, there is a rush to return to life as it used to be - where we could eat and drink out with a group of friends in a busy pub or restaurant, head to the theatre or a concert and plan a foreign holiday lying on a beach somewhere warm.

But for others, new horizons have been viewed.

A new report says it is unlikely that two thirds of people will ever return to working from offices full-time as they have realised that no commute and not having to dress to impress every day actually suits them very well. It means they can spend more time with their families and less time battling traffic.

But if the findings in the report are true, it will change entirely the way we live as well as work ... and will have a knock-on effect for all those industries which rely on office workers. Time will tell.
