Lighting Controls Association Welcomes EiKO as New Member

The Lighting Controls Association is pleased to welcome EiKO, LLC as a new member!

EiKO Global, LLC is a US-owned and operated lighting manufacturer with offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and APAC

For over 40 years, the company has served commercial and industrial end-users as a leading supplier of high-quality intelligent fixtures and wireless controls, value-engineered LED fixtures and lamps, as well as a broad range of traditional lighting products.

Lighting Controls Association Announces New Course on Lighting Control Protocols

The Lighting Controls Association (LCA) now offers EE305: Protocols as a new course in its popular Education Express program.

A lighting control protocol enforces the rules luminaires and devices use to communicate. One can ensure compatibility by reviewing which protocols are used in the lighting control system. A lighting controls design may not begin with a specific protocol in mind, but due to the constraints of each protocol, some protocols may be ideal while others may not.

Authored by C. Webster Marsh, HLB Lighting Design, EE305: Lighting Control Protocols surveys available protocols, how they work in a lighting control system, and specification considerations.

This course is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) for Learning Units (LU)/Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) credits, and the National Council on Quality in the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) for Lighting Education Units (LEUs). It is also required reading to prepare for NALMCO’s Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP) certification exam.
