Good morning. Temperatures will be in the 60s with mostly cloudy skies throughout the state.

Here's what we're talking about in Maine today.

A leaky ceiling festered with mold. Tired of waiting for repairs, a couple and their city turned to the court.
As the mold grew around the leak in Maria and Jonathan Knapp’s bathroom ceiling, so did the smell that came with it, which was so strong it sometimes made Jonathan vomit. And when it rained, water ran down the walls and onto the lap of anyone who happened to be sitting on the toilet. After months went by with no repairs from their landlord, Maria Knapp made a rare move and filed suit.
Then last year, the city of Lewiston brought its own legal action in civil court against the landlord. These lawsuits, and others like them, shed light on the extent to which the city has changed its posture toward landlords who don’t immediately address violations.

Bangor moves to eliminate ‘dated’ rule that treats homosexuality as obscene A City Council committee has voted to erase "homosexuality" from a city ordinance that dates back to at least 1976 and bans most stores from carrying magazines, books and other publications that feature obscene images on their outside covers. In defining the banned obscene images, the rule lumps “homosexuality” in with several overt sexual acts such as intercourse, masturbation and sodomy.

Brewer's growing Riverfront will be home to a new barbecue restaurant
A restaurateur who owns two other Brewer restaurants is planning a third. Thomas Shanos and his business partners are busy working on the new restaurant, Whiskey River Smokehouse, which they say will serve barbecue, smoked foods, steaks, craft beer and cocktails, and will feature live music each weekend.

This boxer is taking off the gloves to fight with his bare knuckles Ellsworth's Chris Sarro, whose great-grandfathers were boxers, has fighting in his blood. Now, he's branching off into bare-knuckle fighting, which only became legal in the U.S. in 2018.
