Dear Supporter,

Go on a journey with us today to find out a little bit more about biodiversity - the huge variety of life on Earth and places where they live. It’s the magic of our planet, it’s what keeps us alive, and it’s up to us to protect it and our shared home.

Biodiversity is more closely tied to our lives than many people think. We rely on biodiversity for the essentials of life - things like fresh air, drinking water and food.

The natural systems, which provide these essentials, rely on countless different interactions, perfected by millions of years of evolution. Each species has a role to play. Without trees, for example, there'd be no oxygen. And without bees, there'd be no fruit or nuts. And when these systems are well-protected, our environment also benefits.
As more people now live in cities than ever before, sadly many of us are losing our direction connection with nature and biodiversity. People feel more distant from nature - experiencing it through television and social media rather than in person.

But here's the reality. City dwellers are no different from anyone else! And the very thing that keeps them alive and breathing is ultimately #biodiversity. Find out more about living in a city and what city-dwellers can do to fight climate change!
So let's all play our part in taking care of the only home we've got, and making sure that the rich biodiversity of our planet protected!
