| Good evening, We’re a humble lot, us Lancastrians. Unlike the folk from over the Pennines - you know who I mean - we tend to keep our light under a bushel. In fact, we are not shouty about either our achievements or our county - probably because we want to keep it quiet that we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and people can still afford to buy a house (albeit a small one). We have the coast, the country and cities all on our doorstep. Amazing producers of food and drink as well as wonderful hospitality. But there are times when we should be announcing from the rooftops how proud we are of Lancashire and its people. And there can’t be a better day to do that than Lancashire Day, which just happens to fall next Saturday. As part of this year’s celebrations, we are joining with Marketing Lancashire to ask people to support local shops and take a selfie with a shopkeeper to give them some publicity and encourage others to join in. It will give those under-pressure retailers a big boost as well as a pat on the back. Until next time, take care, Gillian | |
