There are some traders out there who make decisions based on sentiment.

“I feel like this stock is going to go up.”

“This company’s earnings stank, it’s going to go down.”

But the reality is you can’t always trust trader sentiment.

Smart traders make decisions based on statistics.

Here are some statistics that are beneficial to you.

After NVDA earnings, the market typically prices in about a 6.5% move for the stock.

Before the most recent earnings came out on Wednesday, it was pricing in a move approaching 10% – the market was excited.

Out of the last 49 quarters, on a selloff NVDA has moved more than the options were predicting 4 times.

On rallies, it moved more than expected 16 times.

The market gets more excited when NVDA rallies.

NVDA earnings were not very impressive, and the stock has been moving down since then.

The market is not very excited – but that doesn’t mean there’s not opportunity.

Because I’ve noticed a pattern in NVDA.

After earnings, the options prices get smoked … but they always come back up.

Last time earnings came out, I made 70% and 76% on two trades taking advantage of this.
