Alright! It’s crunch time! We have less than TWO WEEKS to get all the signatures needed to place our Fix Our Damn Roads initiative on this fall’s ballot. If you’re tired of the state refusing to fund our roads, right NOW is the time to do something about it. Here are two things you can do. First, sign our petition. We need around 100,000 valid signatures of registered Colorado voters. And you want to be one of them. Of course, you can sign the petition at II's uptown Denver headquarters, 727 E. 16th Avenue. Contact Mike Krause at Mike@i2i.org to make arrangements, or just swing by if you are in the neighborhood. Talk radio favorites the Americhicks, Molly Vogt and Kim Monson, are hosting a Petition Signing Party on July 30 from 5 to 7 pm at Waters Edge Winery, 2101 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial. Women, wine and petitions – a dangerous combination. Event details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/260527334737975/ Our Mike Krause will be at the Larimer County Republican Men’s Club at Johnson’s Corner on Monday, July 30 at 7:30 AM. Come for the petition and policy, stay for the cinnamon rolls! Also, I’ll be at the Fix Our Damn Roads transportation town hall at the Evans Community Complex in Northern Colorado on Saturday, August 4, from 9 to 10:30 am. At this event, hosted by State Senator and Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee John Cooke, I’ll provide details on how we’re going to Fix Our Damn Roads without raising taxes. Also, I understand someone from CDOT will be there, along with other notable NoCO VIPs such as Johnstown Mayor Scott James, County Commissioner Sean Conway, and House District 50 candidate Mike Theuner. Event details are here. https://www.facebook.com/events/1290675241067819/ If you are in the Pikes Peak area and want to sign the petition, you can go to The Tire Barn at 519 Juanita St. in Colorado Springs, between 9-5, Monday through Friday until July 31st. Our friend Phil McDonald has offered his business as a petition-signing location. Thanks Phil! Of course, we need signatures beyond just yours. We get them, like every other initiative campaign, by hiring people to gather them. It costs us around $3 a signature. So if you could donate $30, that’s ten more signatures. And $300 would get us 100. Please use our awesome crowd-funding platform, FreedomFy, to give to our effort. Here's the link: https://www.freedomfy.com/projects/fix-our-damn-roads/ This next week and a half will decide if Fix Our Damn Roads makes the ballot. This is OUR opportunity to force the state legislature to return funding back to the core function of building roads, instead of funneling even more of our surplus cash into Obamacare as they have for the last decade. We are so close to making this happen and you could put us over the top. I believe the only thing that should stop traffic is a beautiful woman. |
