☀️ It’ll be a comfortable and quiet day Tuesday. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun south with brighter skies north. There’ll be a few lingering showers in far southern Minnesota. High temperatures will be mostly in the 70s.

🌧️ The next round of significant moisture is heading toward Minnesota Tuesday night into Wednesday already. Muggy air will return, bringing waves of showers and thunderstorms into Thursday.

Leonard Peltier talks freedom, future after nearly 50 years in prison
After spending most of his life behind bars, Leonard Peltier now lives in a home on the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa reservation in North Dakota. He says he has no regrets but still harbors resentment over his imprisonment.
 
Mankato small businesses try to stay afloat after last year’s historic floods
There are areas that still haven’t been cleaned up since the previous flood and some businesses are slowly recovering, while city officials find ways to fund infrastructure projects responding to more frequent storms.
🕯️ Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman, husband Mark to lie in state Friday. The late House DFL Leader Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman will lie in state at the Capitol on Friday, along with their golden retriever Gilbert, ahead of memorial services on Saturday.

Storm relief efforts continue in Bemidji, thousands still without power. Thousands of people were still without power Monday afternoon, though Otter Tail Power said much of Bemidji would have power restored this evening.

👮🏼‍♀️ Woman who died after going missing in White Bear Lake identified as Metro Transit police sergeant.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said 40-year-old Beverly Rodriguez of Woodbury went into the water from a boat on the east side of the lake and did not resurface.

🪖 Uncertainty hangs over the status of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Israel and Iran said they agreed to a ceasefire on Tuesday. But the future of such a ceasefire came under immediate question as reports persisted Tuesday morning of further airstrikes in Israel.

🥐 From Eiffel Tower to bistro chairs: Paris expos take center stage in new release by Minnesota author. Charles Pappas is a senior editor for the Minneapolis-based Exhibitor Magazine, which covers expos, fairs and trade shows worldwide. His book comes out in the U.S. on July 1.
🎧 The Trump administration’s latest moves on immigration enforcement. President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown has sparked protests across the country. MPR News host Angela Davis talked with two immigration attorneys about how ICE officials are trying to fulfill Trump’s pledge of mass deportations.

🎧  Jewish students at Minnesota universities will have additional support this fall. Rabbi Jill Avrin will be the organization’s first director of campus affairs.  She started the job this month. and joined Minnesota Now to talk about her goals for this new role.

🎧  Amid war, local Iranian group hoping for a 'better future' for Iran. As the war continues, many Iranians in Minnesota have been keeping a close eye on the conflict. Parham Alaei is a co-founder of the Minnesota Committee in Support of a Democratic Iran and joined Minnesota Now to share his perspective.
