Becoming a better negotiator is partly about practice, so evaluate everyday situations to see whether you can get a better price or improve a relationship, writes George Mason University professor Suzanne de Janasz. "Perhaps it's due to a fear of failure or a fear of rejection, but the more you ignore conflictual situations that could be improved with negotiation, the more you give such conflicts power over you," she writes.

Legoland Florida in Winter Haven is hiring 10 Lego master model builders for the rebuilding of its MiniLand USA area. The project, which will take place in phases, is expected to be completed in three years and include the installation of a shade structure over the area.

Kraft Heinz HQ is out with desks, in with collaboration

Kraft Heinz is renovating its Chicago headquarters to accommodate its new hybrid work model, replacing personal desks with meeting spaces and enhanced videoconferencing technology to promote collaboration between in-office and at-home employees. The offices will open on a voluntary basis next month with the official opening pushed to January, and employees must be vaccinated unless they have a religious or health exemption.

Rainbow color maps aren't suitable for science
Maps and other visualizations can grab the attention of readers, but it turns out rainbow maps can distort a reader's understanding of the information the map is trying to convey. Plus, people with color vision deficiencies can struggle mightily to decipher the different shades of color in a rainbow map. Colors like yellow and cyan can be particularly misleading and some researchers are even calling for rainbow maps to be banned in publications.
