Good morning and happy Wednesday. Here are some of our top headlines. Immigration enforcement: A state Senate committee advanced a controversial bill to give Louisiana police the ability to enforce federal immigration law on Tuesday, a measure similar to one currently being challenged in Texas. The bill comes as Gov. Jeff Landry has pushed a variety of measures aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration, including a $3 million plan to send Louisiana National Guard troops to the Texas border. Meghan Friedmann has the latest. Auto empire expands: Troy Duhon is now the largest Louisiana-based car dealer after finalizing the purchase of four West Bank dealerships from the estate of Ray Brandt. The purchase includes a few outlets that have a special meaning for Duhon, including the lots where he sold his first car and where he met his wife.
