Good afternoon,

Here's the coronavirus situation in Scotland on Monday 21 September.

Let's get the most concerning news out the way first: It's looking increasingly likely that further restrictions will be placed on Scots to stem the spread of coronavirus.

Today, Nicola Sturgeon said additional lockdown measure will “almost certainly” be put in place in Scotland in the next couple of days.

Do we know what these measures will be? Not officially, but a leaked memo reveals Scotland could face a ‘circuit break’ lockdown including a complete closure of hospitality and a return to the stay-at-home message of the early stages of the pandemic.

The numbers today

- 727,476 people in Scotland have been tested

- There were 255 new cases in the last 24 hours, this graph shows the trend in daily new cases over the last month.

- No new reported deaths

- Eight people in intensive care
