Media representatives who will not be in Lausanne will have the possibility of watching the press conferences live on Periscope and YouTube.Please regularly check @iocmedia on Twitter, where we will send updates on timings. Access Media representatives wishing to cover the IOC EB and attend the press conference on 9 January are required to complete the accreditation application on the IOC website by 3 January 2020. For the 135th IOC Session, your YOG accreditation will allow you to enter the SwissTech Convention Centre. Media representatives who do not have a YOG accreditation but wish to cover the IOC Session are requested to register via the accreditation portal. Media accreditation cards for the IOC Executive Board meeting will be distributed at Olympic House on 8 January starting from 8 a.m. Media facilities and photo opportunities A media working room will be set up at Olympic House on the ground floor for the EB meeting and another working room will be set up at the SwissTech for the IOC Session. Both rooms will be equipped with free wireless internet access. Media catering will be provided to cover lunches and coffee breaks. Opening hours: Olympic House - Route de Vidy 9, 1007 Lausanne 8 January from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 9 January from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. SwissTech Convention Centre IOC Session: 10 January from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The IOC Executive Board meeting is closed to the media. A photo opportunity during the EB will be organised for photographers and camera operators only at 8.50 a.m. There will be no press briefing at the end of the day. A media huddle will be organised at UNIL Amphimax with the IOC President and Virginie Faivre, President of the Organising Committee of the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lausanne 2020 on 8 January at 7 p.m. for the opening of the Winter YOG. Media wishing to attend the media huddle are requested to meet at 6.45 p.m. in front of the Amphimax Café (3rd floor). Access to Amphimax: Quartier Sorge, 1015 Lausanne M1, UNIL-Sorge stop On 9 January, the IOC Presidents Press Conference with Kirsty Coventry, IOC EB member and Chair of the IOC Athletes Commission, will take place at 12 p.m. in Olympic House. A photo opportunity will be organised ahead of the joint Executive Board meeting with the Athletes Commission, and for the Lausanne 2020 medal handover to Zakea Page, the medal designer. At 11 a.m., a roundtable on the Living Legacies Project will be organised in the media working room with Marie Sallois, IOC Director of Corporate and Sustainable Development and Tania Braga, IOC Head of legacy. The proceedings of the IOC Session will be available via closed circuit TV in the media working room at the SwissTech, as well as on YouTube. During the IOC Session, filming positions are available during the proceedings. Photographers and camera operators will be requested to stand on the platform installed at the back of the room at all times. Media are requested to pick up an armband for ENG camera operators and photographers to enter the IOC Session room. It will be on first-come, first-serve basis and one armband per media organisation. A Mixed Zone will be set up outside the IOC Session room. Transport Media representatives are requested to make their own arrangements to get to Olympic House and the SwissTech Convention Centre. Free content available Broadcast-quality footage For broadcasters: The IOC will provide video news releases (VNRs) and television news highlights to broadcasters on a daily basis. The VNRs will include the following content for all gold medallists at the Winter YOG Lausanne 2020 and some silver and bronze medallists (on demand): - action footage; - interviews (in English or native language when possible); - medal ceremony. Each video will be available for free download in both broadcast and web quality. A shot list, including translations and a story script, will be available for each release. The content will be available via the IOC Newsroom, and a link to each VNR will be pushed via email to IOC Newsroom subscribers. The Lausanne 2020 News Access Rules apply to these IOC products. Olympic Information Services The Olympic Information Services (OIS) text coverage will include detailed sports reports on the competitions, and feature stories on the young and emerging athletes, and articles focusing on cultural and educational initiatives at the YOG. The reports by the OIS reporters will be published in the news section of the Lausanne 2020 website and will be available licence-free for republishing and distribution for editorial purposes by the media, NOCs, IFs, National Federations, clubs and schools. A media briefing for the accredited media will be held at 2 p.m. on 9 January at the Lausanne 2020 Main Press Centre. During this meeting, Lausanne 2020 and IOC Media Operations will present the facilities and services available for the media at the Youth Olympic Games, such as the Main Press Centre in Lausanne and Sub Media Centre in St Moritz, access to Lausanne 2020 competition and non-competition venues (including the Youth Olympic Villages), transport services, and other topics. There will be additional media opportunities: Media accredited for the Lausanne 2020 YOG will have access to the Athlete365 Education Programme spaces in the common areas of the Youth Olympic Villages (YOVs) in Lausanne and St Moritz, including the Game Changers Hub in the Vortex (YOV Lausanne). In Lausanne, accredited media with a YOV code on their accreditation card will be able to access the YOV square (ground floor of the Vortex) from 7 until 21 January, except for the following dates: - 9 January Opening Ceremony day - 16 January transition between Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the athletes - 22 January Closing Ceremony day Access hours will vary depending on the date and may be consulted, along with the media access dates and hours for the YOV in St Moritz, in the Lausanne 2020 Media Guide to be released at the end of December 2019. Media Tours will be organised to each of the YOVs, available to a limited number of accredited media: - in Lausanne: on 9 January - in St Moritz: on 11 January (tbc) The details and registration procedure will be communicated by Lausanne 2020 in due course. Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Villages will have an indoor interview zone with a backdrop where the media can interview athletes in an informal environment. There will be no media workrooms at either of the YOVs. The media are advised to use the Main Press Centre in Lausanne and Sub Media Centre in St Moritz, both located within a 15-minute trip by public transport from the respective YOVs. Athlete Education Programme: part of the YOG allows athletes to enrich their YOG experience beyond the field of play. The Athlete Education Programme is based on three educational themes: Protect the Clean Athlete, Athlete Performance and Athlete Beyond Sport. This will give the athletes the opportunity to participate in interactive and fun activities, where they can broaden their understanding of such topics as Olympism, healthy lifestyles, career planning and management. Game Changer Hub where the Olympic Channel brings athletes together on digital activations. The Lausanne 2020 Media Guide will help you find clearly and quickly the necessary information to approach the coverage of Lausanne 2020. This manual will be released at the end of December 2019 and will provide a summary of the services and facilities available for the media at the Winter YOG.
