SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Matthew 7:24-27
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, whichbuilt his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. "And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."

QUOTE OF THE DAY George Albert Smith "Let us do better than we have ever done before. Let us renew our determination to be real Latter-day Saints, and not just make-believe. . . . I do not know anybody who can not do a little better than he has been doing, if he makes up his mind" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith, p. 5).

He and a few men stopped to rest while the rest of the company moved on, covering 16 1/2 miles before camping. Brigham Young's group caught up a while later in the day. The company also crossed the Bear River on this day.
