SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Alma 5:33-35 "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." ARCHIVE |
QUOTE OF THE DAY Howard W. Hunter "Students spend hours in scientific laboratories experimenting to find the truth. If they will do the same thing with faith, prayer, forgiveness, humility and love, they will find a testimony of Jesus Christ, the giver of these principles. . . . Action is one of the chief foundations of personal testimony. The surest witness is that which comes firsthand out of personal experience" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Howard W. Hunter, p. 276). ARCHIVE |
TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY February 27 1846 - A severe cold spell hit Nauvoo and caused the Mississippi River to freeze over, allowing many Saints to drive their teams and wagons over the river into Iowa. For a couple of days, whole caravans of wagons could be seen crossing the river on the ice. However, the ice soon broke up and the Saints had to wait until the great ice blocks moved down river and the ferries could begin operating again. Click Here for More! |
