Recall lawsuit: Mayor LaToya Cantrell went to court today to challenge the deal that lowered the number of registered voters that are required to force a recall election, Matt Sledge reports. Cantrell’s lawsuit is the latest salvo in a tense recall battle. Not running: Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon said this morning he won't seek re-election. Donelon, 78, is in his fourth term and has said the state is in the midst of an "insurance crisis." Relocating: The long-term future of the Homer Plessy Community School’s French Quarter campus remains up in the air. Students will be relocated for the next school year while some repairs are made at the St. Philip Street building. After that? The school district can’t say with any certainty, Marie Fazio reports. Rejected: Gov. John Bel Edwards weighed in Monday on the Folgers Coffee Co.’s request for some tax breaks in New Orleans. Tyler Bridges has the details. What about Michael Thomas? The Saints got a star quarterback last week when they are signed a huge deal with Derek Carr. Then on Monday, QB Jameis Winston agreed to stick around for another season.
