Before I share about my condition, I want to say thank you to those who have written, messaged and called. In fact, “Thank You” doesn’t cover it. SO MANY of you have sent well-wishes, prayers, messages and scriptures. A couple have preached parts of my own sermons to me to encourage me. It’s been overwhelming. I could never thank you enough. HAVING SAID THAT, let me share the update. Many of you know I’ve been continuing to cough up more blood than expected. I’ve been taking blood thinners and consequently, the lung is taking longer to stop bleeding. The doctors have even recommended a blood transfusion because I’ve lost so much blood, but I’m not comfortable doing that overseas. Some of you have also asked how my skull was fractured. When the bullet hit me, it knocked me forward, where I fell flat onto rocks, causing the fracture just over my left eye. I’m not taking the pain meds, which in turn is causing trouble sleeping. So you can see, the road right now is tough. In spite of all that, Operation Holiday Hope is still our most important Evangelistic project of the year. That doesn’t change because I’ve been shot. Some of you have already helped. Again, thank you. But if you haven’t had the chance to help yet, this is your opportunity. That’s what this button is here for. I can stand for 30-40 minutes at a time to preach, and I won’t stop getting the word out there. But I’m just not able to do the TV telethons for Operation Holiday Hope this year. That’s why I need your help – your partnership -- today. We all know it could have been worse, but once again, the Lord has spared my life. The political implications of being shot in that part of the world continue to surface as well, but I’ll go into that in another update. If you need any more information, you can email Alistair Perumal at Metro’s Headquarters in Brooklyn at [email protected]. Meanwhile, please continue to share with your friends and churches. We need everyone’s help. As a friend reminded me from a sermon I preached from Numbers 16, we will stand between the living and the dead because where we stand makes a difference. Thank you for standing with me. Pastor Bill |
