Latest Plan to Protect Jobs and Support Businesses The UK Government has set out its Winter Economy Plan which is designed to protect jobs and support businesses over the coming months. As part of the plan, the government has unveiled a new Job Support Scheme and extension of the Self Employment Income Support Scheme. There will also be additional flexibility for over one million businesses to help pay back loans and deferrals of tax, plus the 5% VAT threshold for hospitality and tourism businesses has been extended. |

Help for High Growth Start-ups High growth start-up companies and university spinout projects will receive grants to help them grow in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Part of a £3 million package of support, the funding provides grants of up to £50,000 for 41 high growth potential start-ups and up to £130,000 for 16 spinout projects.
