Werewolf wins $100K Rogers Best Canadian Film Award Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:08 AM PST Werewolf, the debut feature from Ashley McKenzie and Nelson MacDonald (both NSI Drama Prize), has been named the Rogers Best Canadian Film of 2017. The award comes with a $100K prize, received by director Ashley at a Toronto Film Critics Association gala on January 9. Werewolf depicts a couple struggling with methadone treatment and its impact on their lives while living in a small town. NSI nominated Werewolf for the Telefilm Canada Micro-Budget Production Program in 2015. Previously Ashley was featured in the The Globe and Mail‘s runners-up list of Canadian artists of the year for her work on the film.
