In a wry reflection on gender identity and sexuality, when an awkward teenage boy and his crush magically switch bodies after taking mushrooms, he discovers that attraction is more complicated than he thought.

That Mennonite Joke

Comedian Matt Falk is on a quest to craft the most hilarious act in history. To do that, he must go on a comedic walkabout through his Mennonite heritage.

Testament

Testament | Drama, 14:30, French with English subtitles, QC, 2016 | Director: Eric Jean

A young woman brings us into her wild and fantastic world as she realizes her death is imminent.

This film is adapted from the novel Testament, written in urgency by the Canadian author Vickie Gendreau at the age of 23 after learning she was suffering from an incurable cancer.

All NSI Online Short Film Festival winners receive a complimentary Friend membership for the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and non-acting award winners are qualified to be nominated for a Canadian Screen Award (if award criteria are met).

Your film must be less than 30 mins long. Drama, comedy, animation, documentary, sci-fi, horror, music video and experimental are all eligible and must be made by a Canadian writer, director or producer.

Production begins on NSI Features First-developed film Level 16

Production has begun on NSI Features First-developed film Level 16 in Toronto and Hamilton. The film is written and directed by Danishka Esterhazy.

The dystopian science fiction thriller is set in a strict boarding home for girls, and follows two young girls as they uncover a dark secret about their academy.

Level 16 was developed through NSI Features First in 2006-07 by Stéphanie Chapelle and Danishka.
