Rezolution Pictures profiled in Playback

Rezolution Pictures, the Montreal-based production company run by Catherine Bainbridge, Christina Fon (both NSI Global Marketing) and Ernest Webb (NSI Aboriginal Cultural Trade Initiative), has been profiled in Playback.

Tracey Deer (NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program), Cynthia Knight (NSI Drama Prize) and Courtney Montour (NSI IndigiDocs) are also part of the Rezolution Pictures team.

Catherine and Ernest spoke about the higher profile that projects like Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World and Mohawk Girls have earned their company.

As Ernest said about Rumble: “The film resonates with everybody. Black, white, native – everybody comes away with something.”

Catherine added about Rezolution’s goals: “We’re going for high-end, really well-told scripted stories. We’re forging relationships on an international level in a way that we had never done before.”

NSI alumni films at Cinéfest Sudbury

Cinéfest Sudbury kicked off last weekend and there’s still plenty of films to catch from NSI grads:

The following films also play at the fest: Birth of a Family from writer/director Tasha Hubbard (NSI IndigiDocs); In the Name of All Canadians – a compilation of six shorts including Last Resort from Jennifer Bowen-Allen (NSI IndigiDocs) and L’inspecteur from Janelle Wookey (NSI Business for Producers; Mary Goes Round from writer/director Molly McGlynn (NSI Drama Prize); Ordinary Days from directors Jordan Canning (NSI Drama Prize), Kris Booth (NSI Features First) and writer/producer Ramona Barckert (Script to Screen); and Room For Rent from producers John Barnard, Chris Charney and Kyle Bornais (all NSI Features First).

Cinéfest Sudbury runs through September 24, 2017.
