Rezolution Pictures profiled in Playback Posted: 21 Sep 2017 07:51 AM PDT From left: Catherine Bainbridge, Ernest Webb, Christina Fon and Linda Ludwick Rezolution Pictures, the Montreal-based production company run by Catherine Bainbridge, Christina Fon (both NSI Global Marketing) and Ernest Webb (NSI Aboriginal Cultural Trade Initiative), has been profiled in Playback. Tracey Deer (NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program), Cynthia Knight (NSI Drama Prize) and Courtney Montour (NSI IndigiDocs) are also part of the Rezolution Pictures team. Catherine and Ernest spoke about the higher profile that projects like Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World and Mohawk Girls have earned their company. As Ernest said about Rumble: “The film resonates with everybody. Black, white, native – everybody comes away with something.” Catherine added about Rezolution’s goals: “We’re going for high-end, really well-told scripted stories. NSI alumni films at Cinéfest Sudbury Posted: 20 Sep 2017 02:19 PM PDT Cinéfest Sudbury kicked off last weekend and there’s still plenty of films to catch from NSI grads: The Breadwinner from producer Anthony Leo (NSI Totally Television) Don’t Talk to Irene from writer/director Pat Mills (NSI Drama Prize, NSI Totally Television, NSI Features First, Script to Screen), producer Alyson Richards (NSI Drama Prize, NSI Features First) Great Great Great from writer/director Adam Garnet Jones (Corus Diverse TV Director, NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program Indian Horse from producers Paula Devonshire (NSI Features First, NSI Totally Televison) and Trish Dolman (NSI Features First) Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World from producers Catherine Bainbridge and Christina Fon (both NSI Global Marketing) Suck It Up from from director Jordan Canning (NSI Drama Prize)The following films also play at the fest: Birth of a Family from writer/director Tasha Hubbard (NSI IndigiDocs); In the Name of All Canadians – a compilation of six shorts including Last Resort from Jennifer Bowen-Allen (NSI IndigiDocs) and L’inspecteur from Janelle Wookey (NSI Business for Producers; Mary Goes Round from writer/director Molly McGlynn (NSI Drama Prize); Ordinary Days from directors Jordan Canning (NSI Drama Prize), Kris Booth (NSI Features First) and writer/producer Ramona Barckert (Script to Screen); and Room For Rent from producers John Barnard, Chris Charney and Kyle Bornais (all NSI Features First).
