Congratulations to Jennifer Holness (NSI Drama Prize, Telefilm – Canada Spark Plug Program, NSI Global Marketing) and Erica Daniels (CBC New Indigenous Voices, NSI IndigiDocs) who have both received prestigious awards.

Jennifer, co-founder of Hungry Eyes Media, was awarded the Established Producer Award at this year’s Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) annual Indiescreen Awards on February 10. The award also carries a $10K prize.

Erica, owner of Kejic Productions, was awarded the 2021 Young Aboriginal Entrepreneur Award from the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business. Erica’s award will be celebrated at the online event Connecting the Circle Awards Celebration on March 31. Register to attend the event now.

Alumni films stream for free through NFB all month long

Alumni films will stream for free on the National Film Board (NFB) website from March 1 to 31. The NFB have released films for younger audiences to celebrate spring break as well as bilingual films to mark the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie.

Starting March 1

  • nîpawistamâsowin: We Will Stand Up – written, directed and produced by Tasha Hubbard (NSI IndigiDocs). This film will be available in English, French or with Plains Cree subtitles.
