Three of the four teams participating include NSI alumni. Roxann Whitebean (NSI IndigiDocs) and Shian Whitebean with their project The Indian Day School Series Mary Galloway (TELUS STORYHIVE) and Jessie Anthony with their coming-of age LGBTQ2 series Querencia Darcy Waite (CBC New Indigenous Voices, NSI IndigiDocs) and Cynthia Murdock (CBC New Indigenous Voices) with their comedy DJ Burnt Bannock + the Métis Kid imagineNATIVE also revealed a new business pilot for 2019: the Indigenous Feature Futures Forum (IFFF). This one-day event invites eight Indigenous-led dramatic feature film teams from Canada to present their in-development projects to high-profile executives for further development, financing, impact, acquire key partners, and to create lasting professional relationships.
