Territories filmmakers: apply for funding through Harold Greenberg Fund/Territories shorts program

Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund, in partnership with Yukon Media Development, Northwest Territories Film Commission and Nunavut Film Development Corporation, is accepting applications for the 2019 HGF/Territories Shorts Program.

The program is designed to bolster emerging talent in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. It offers three emerging filmmaking teams – one from each territory – $20K each to make dramatic short films aimed at showcasing new creative visions and furthering their careers toward feature filmmaking.

Eligibility requirements

Deadline for submissions is November 6, 2019. Find out more and apply.

Films from NSI grads win awards at FIN Atlantic film fest

NSI grads took home awards at the 2019 FIN Atlantic International Film Festival last week in Halifax.

Best Atlantic short went to Little Grey Bubbles from co-producer and actor Josh MacDonald (NSI Totally Television), and Murmur (pictured) from producer Martha Cooley (NSI Drama Prize) won the Gordon Parsons Award for best Atlantic feature

FIN Atlantic International Film Festival 2019 ran from September 12 to 19. FIN is committed to supporting quality cinema in Atlantic Canada by offering a first look at the best international films of the festival season and showcasing excellence in local filmmaking.

The NSI Online Short Film Festival is a year-round Canadian short film showcase with new films added every week. Since launching in 2008, the festival has programmed hundreds of films and awarded over $125K to Canadian media artists. Many of the films are available to watch in the archives.
