Three new films in this week’s NSI Online Short Film Festival from directors Jonathan Eagan, Jesse Gotfrit and Micah Henry.

Tom, a thoughtful teenager who longs for acceptance, is goaded into committing an act of vandalism by the vindictive older brother of his best friend.

When caught in the act, he suddenly finds himself in an altercation that ends violently, forever changing him and his relationship with his friends in ways he never imagined.

After running away from home, Chris met Austin and they now live together in a rundown warehouse.

The NSI Online Short Film Festival is a year-round Canadian short film showcase with new films added every week. Since launching in 2008, the festival has programmed hundreds of films and awarded over $125K to Canadian media artists. Many of the films are available to watch in the archives.

Worst Team Ever from Kathleen Jayme, Michael Grand wins TIFF Pitch This! prize

Big congrats to Kathleen Jayme, Michael Grand (both STORYHIVE 100K) and the team behind project Worst Team Ever, who took home the TIFF Pitch This! prize at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) over the weekend.

Kathleen and team are the recipients of $15,000 in prize money to put towards their project.

Worst Team Ever is a documentary that tells the unfortunate story of what happened to the Vancouver Grizzlies, Canada’s other NBA team – gone, but far from forgotten – who just might have been the worst professional sports franchise in history.
