NSI Features First-developed SuperGrid takes home film fest awards Posted: 30 Nov 2018 02:47 PM PST NSI Features First-developed SuperGrid, from producer Hugh Patterson and writer Todd McCauley, has been recognized with several awards over its festival run this fall. NSI Features First grad Trinni Franke is also a producer on the film. At the Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards, SuperGrid took home best feature film. Previously, at the Saskatoon Fantastic Festival, SuperGrid was given the Special Audience Award – it was the highest rated movie in nine years. Additionally, SuperGrid cinematographer Michael Jari Davidson won for best cinematography at Toronto’s Blood in the Snow Fest, where it was also the opening night film. • • • NSI Features First provides development training for writer/producer teams looking to produce their first or second feature film with strong commercial appeal. Over 20 feature films developed through the program have been produced since 1997.
