Eisha Marjara wins best director for Venus at Indian Film Fest of Cincinnati Posted: 21 Sep 2018 11:33 AM PDT Congratulations to Eisha Marjara, writer/director of NSI Features First-developed Venus, who won best director earlier this month at the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati. Genders, generations and cultures collide in this comedy about the modern family unit which follows a transitioning woman who discovers she’s the father of a 14-year-old boy. New feature from Scott Westby, Matt Watterworth underway in Calgary Posted: 21 Sep 2018 11:12 AM PDT Photography has begun in Calgary on new feature film Jonesin‘ from director Scott Westby (pictured, above right) and producer Matt Watterworth (both NSI Features First) of Full Swing Productions. Jonesin’ explores a case of mistaken identity when country boy Deke Jones stumbles into gangster Deacon Jones’ story of drugs, stolen money and incompetent thugs. Kidnapped, beaten and bruised by a gang looking for Deacon and their stolen cash, Deke’s escape depends on trusting an unlikely partner. Kristen Gutoskie (Lethal Weapon), Brandon Sklenar (Mapplethorpe) and Jesse Lipscombe (Tiny Plastic Men) star in this dark crime comedy, written by Kevin Doree. Jonesin’ is set to debut in 2019.
