The Lunch Line: Latest on likely-to-be Claudette, and Sean Payton ties the knot

By Jerry DiColo

WET WEATHER ARRIVES: It's looking cloudy out there, and forecasters say rain is on the way as what's shaping up to be the first named storm to threaten Louisiana makes its way north through the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Hurricane Center say the storm, which will likely become Tropical Storm Claudette, could bring as much as 10 inches of rain to southeast Louisiana.

Here are the latest updates on expected track, watches & warnings, likely rain totals and storm preparations across the metro area.

MEXICO WEDDING: New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and Skylene Montgomery are tying the knot today. Here are some of the details on the wedding in Mexico.

GARBAGE FIGHT: After Hurricane Katrina, trash was treasure for landfill owners, and few made out better than Fred Heebe and Jim Ward, owners of the River Birch landfill. But questions have long persisted about whether campaign contributions were behind their success. Next week, a civil trial will let a jury decide if corruption played a role.

You can find these stories and more in today’s Lunch Line and on NOLA.com. Thanks for reading and stay dry this weekend.
