Latest Business Support Information Published.

Businesses have benefited from more than £1.94 billion in grants paid directly to businesses since March 2020. This is in addition to £965 million in coronavirus (COVID-19) non-domestic rates reliefs.

The Scottish Government has also announced that grants of up to £7,500 for retailers and up to £19,500 for hospitality and leisure businesses who were approved for The Strategic Framework Grant will be paid in April as part of strategic framework grant restart payments, to help businesses reopen progressively. (There is no need to apply for these restart grants if you have been approved for Strategic Framework Grant).

The Scottish Government is also extending 100% non-domestic rates relief for retail, leisure, hospitality and aviation businesses for the whole of the next financial year.

£25 Million for Tourism Recovery 

The Scottish Government has announced £25 million of funding to support the Tourism sector’s recovery from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The programme, which has been developed by the Scottish Tourism Emergency Response Group (STERG) in partnership with businesses, will include Holiday vouchers, discounts for days out and a marketing fund.

A new Social Enterprise Action Plan will offer increased support to the sector - boosting its potential for growth and putting the social enterprise model at the heart of Scotland’s recovery from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The three-year action plan demonstrates the Scottish Government’s commitment to social enterprise as a way of doing business for the common good and to building a well-being economy.

£7 Million to Accelerate Scotland's Tech-Led Recovery

Mark Logan, former Skyscanner executive and Professor of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, has been appointed to oversee work to establish Scotland as a world-class technology hub.

The programme will be delivered with £7 million Scottish Government funding in its first year including a £1 million fund to make strategic investments in organisations and activities that create the best possible environment for Scottish start-ups to succeed.

Buy Social Scotland Corporate campaign set to launch to support companies looking to buy back better through social enterprise supply chains.

Organised by Social Enterprise Scotland, the Buy Social Scotland Corporate Challenge is backed by the Scottish Government and will see ten companies pledge to support social enterprise organisations in its initial phase with a target of £1 million to be spent collectively through their supply chains.

£2,000 Brexit Support Grants for SMEs

The SME Brexit Support Fund is for small and medium-sized businesses who are new to importing or exporting. It can help adjust to new customs, rules of origin and VAT rules when trading with the EU.

It could give you up to £2,000 to help with training or professional advice.
