I spent most of my week in Denver for the 2021 XYPN Live conference, my first in-person industry conference since the COVID-19 pandemic started and I joined Financial Planning. It was great to meet some of the youngest advisors in the industry and hear their passion for creating a better financial services industry. Shout out to the one advisor who told me he wants to “burn the entire industry down.” It was also great to check out some of the newest wealthtech companies on the scene, hoping to establish a foothold with smaller RIAs as some of the more established vendors focus resources on enterprise deals. FP Alpha launched an interesting new prospecting tool that puts financial planning front and center (hoping to cover this more in depth next week), and Pulse360 caught XYPN co-founder Michael Kitces’ attention for their work solving one of advisors’ ongoing pain points: meeting prep. Financial Planning’s own technology conference, Invest Connect, is going down virtually next week. There is still time to sign up, and all WealthTech Weekly subscribers can get free access by clicking here.
