We're just over a week away from our big fundraiser, the Harvest for Help Breakfast, and if you still need to purchase tickets, you ONLY have a few more days to do so. Ticket sales close at the end of the day, Friday, Sept. 6. The event will be fun and informative, and your ticket purchase goes to help support programs like Meals on Wheels.
This year's breakfast will feature a panel discussion centered on nutrition. The panel will discuss how food is more than a meal and impacts our wellness picture.
Matt Dexter, Executive Director of the Christine B. Foundation; Shannon Coffin, Vice President of Community Partnerships at Good Shepherd Food Bank; Mary Ellen Camire, Professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Maine, and Jimmy Durda from the Maine Department of Agriculture Conservation and Forestry will join us.
We will also show a feature video on our Meals on Wheels program, celebrate our Helper of the Year honoree, Versant Power, and give away some great door prizes.
