| Good evening, It is a year since the World Health Organisation said that the coronavirus outbreak was officially a pandemic. I doubt if any of us, apart from the scientists, had any indication of what that actually meant and what impact it was about to have on our lives. All of a sudden, we were starting to hear about cases of coronavirus in our communities and even deaths; football matches and other professional sports were cancelled and there was talk that the pubs might even shut! I remember one conversation in the office around that time of how long any restrictions might last. The general consensus was about three months, although one person did say that September might be the date when we would be ‘back to normal.’ Within days, the office was closed down and we were condemned to the world of Zoom and Google hangouts. And here we are, almost a year later, still in our kitchens and bedrooms. Except we have a year’s worth of knowledge about this virus and crucially a vaccine. There is a chink of light at the end of a long tunnel.
